about

“We are drowning in information, while starving for wisdom. The world henceforth will be run by synthesizers, people able to put together the right information at the right time, think critically about it, and make important choices wisely.”- e.o wilson

“When Alejandra and I founded the everyday athlete, our intention was to teach people how to make healthier choices for themselves, to encourage them to pursue their dreams despite doubts or fears, and to empower them to transform themselves.   Our dream was a community of like minded individuals discovering their incredible and unimagined potential.  Today, we could not be happier, as this all and more has come true!” - Tomas Anthony, founder of everyday athlete

We hope to inspire you through our challenging, unique and complete health & fitness programs. Our goal is to help you live a healthier, more balanced and meaningful life. We believe in the transformative power of Play and the essential balance of challenge and joy in movement. We continually strive to help you explore your untapped potential in authentic and empowering ways.

  • women
  • youth
  • children

Tomas Anthony

“I’m obsessed with the idea that you can transform yourself and your life through play. Before I suffered from a chronic and severe metabolic condition. I was seriously depressed, overweight, lethargic and without hope. Now, even though I still struggle at times with my illness, I have learned how to use fitness, play, positive psychology and expert performance methodologies to structure my life. Despite other challenges that I’ve had to face, I am a physically, emotionally and energetically connected in a way that I never was before. The everyday athlete and the community that has grown up in our Brooklyn test kitchen are a testament to the effectiveness of this fusion. I get up every day happy, excited and eager to be a part of this wonderful thing we call life.”

Tomas’ clients include business executives, professional writers, artists, musicians and celebrity chefs as well as toddlers, preschoolers, grade school skaters and a fantastic group of fearless tweens and teens. A graduate of English from Oberlin College, a former photographer, teacher then software executive, Tomas became a trainer after many years of practicing the techniques he now teaches others. His passions are doing fun stuff outdoors from skateboarding, surfing, climbing and soccer to playing with his daughter in the park. Tomas has lived in and traveled in Central and South America and is fluent in Spanish.

“I teach an Anusara influenced class that is strong, both physically and mentally. I encourage my students to use their intentions and thoughts to experience their placement in space. There is some jumping, some going upside down; the class is more focused strength and alignment than on cardiovascular endurance. I want students to have time to figure out where they are.”
